Arzona B Rushing Cashion

Arzona came into the world in the usual way, but under rather trying circumstances.
She and her sister, Leona were born in the back of a covered wagon in the deepest part of winter.

Afraid her babies might not survive due to the cold, their mother Fanny Josephine and her husband, Andrew Jackson Rushing, sought refuge with the army in Ft. Doaksville, Oklahoma.

They backed their wagon into an earthen dugout, where a fire was built to provide some heat.

The local midwife, Granny Allgood, assisted at the birth.

It was so very cold that Fanny kept the babies under the cover for warmth.

That the babies survived is a miracle.
I thank God that they did.
I am Arzonas' youngest daughter.
